I usually meet with the prospective parents in the second or third trimester of pregnancy for us to get to know each other better and to learn about prior birth experiences and/or the history of the current pregnancy and see if I would be the right Doula to support you.
When booked we will have 2 antenatal birth preparation sessions, you will receive a valuable information pack and we will talk about expectations, birth preferences, and so much more.
Telephone calls and e-mails (no limit). I am on call 24/7 two weeks before and two weeks after your due date. During labour I will provide continuous physical and emotional support for you and your partner, continuity of care by remaining with you throughout labour, no matter how long that may be. I also offer labour Aromatherapy Massage.
I will stay with you after the birth of your baby for up to 2 hours and preserve the privacy of the new family during the first hour after birth. I can work just as effectively if it is a home birth and I will wait until baby has taken the first feed. I will ensure that you and your baby are settled before leaving. With my support and assistance, you can be sure that you will have the best possible environment for you to have an empowering birth.
There will be a further Postnatal visit at a time convenient to you, to assist with breast or formula feeding and if experiencing any difficulties.
You may find you want help through pre-natal and post-partum adjustments, and transitions to motherhood. I offer additional support around the home for an initial period of six to eight weeks, and will assist with family adjustment, newborn care, feeding and the promotion of parent-infant bonding.
For both my Ante-natal and Post-natal Doula services, I can be booked in week long blocks at any time during the pregnancy or after the birth.
It is of my belief that every woman deserves a Doula so in exceptional cases my Birth and Postnatal Doula fee maybe reduced. If a family's only income is receipt of state benefits such as Income Support they may be able to access the Doula UK Hardship fund to enable a Doula UK Doula to support them.
Thank you for taking the time to look around my web site.
Any time really
I work on a first come first served basis. I may be busy one month and have more availability the next. So, you may want to call in advance to assure yourself of my availability.
Or call last minute after your baby's birth for some post natal support.
